Thanks Helen, my attempt obviously didn't get through.
We used to 'recycle' our old calenda
Best wishes to you all x
I do like that pic :)
We did not have chocolate advent calenders either. Homemade by my mum.
I did have a plan to make homemade ones for our children (lego bits and small chocolate treats in each window so they could make an xmas tree/ decoration at the end of the month) ended up buying Tesco's own brand :(
Me and Beth made advent calendars for one another one year. We painted the pictures. We still have those somewhere.
I like the beer advent calendars i've seen. I might to that next year :)
We never had chocolate either, just the same cardboard one year after year... For most of her life DD has had the playmobil advent calendar. But this year she has the Avon nail varnish advent calender... *sigh
Yes! The picture ones were the best!
The chocolate ones always sounded way better but the reality was that you just ended up with a different shape and a scruffy looking empty plastic mold.
Whereas the picture ones evoked a story. And then the 24th was always a double door one aswell and you always wanted to know what it was going to be.
Whereas with chocolate, you knew the mystery revealed was just going to be... well, more bloody chocolate.
How wonderful. i love hand/homemade advent calenders. Happy christmas xx
I forgot about the double doors! Funny how pictures might be better than chocolate. This calendar is lovely. I love it.
The chocolate ones are just a new fangled gimmick.....it was always about the drawings in the olden days! Merry Christmas
I preferred the picture ones too. Have a wonderful Christmas - you and the family xxx
