I'm here because it's a place where I want to be.

What do I do with my life - still pondering that, keep exploring the possibilities I suppose...

I do have another more personal moblog Vivupclose

Take a look at my daughter Beth's website...

food for thought...

Everyone, in some small sacred sanctuary of the self, is nuts. -Leo Rosten, author (1908-1997)

We think caged birds sing, when indeed they cry. -John Webster, playwright (c. 1580-1634)

There are two kinds of light -- the glow that illuminates, and the glare that obscures. -James Thurber, writer and cartoonist (1894-1961)

The artist brings something into the world that didn't exist before, and he does it without destroying something else. -John Updike, writer (1932-2009)

Some people become so expert at reading between the lines they don't read the lines. -Margaret Millar, novelist (1915-1994)

There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest. -Elie Wiesel, writer, Nobel laureate (b. 1928)

Done lots of good things recently - trips to Settle to gigs seem to becoming a regular feature of life. Another trip to the Ilkley film festival to see Michael Rosen on Thurs, again with H&B; - which was great. Then last Fri it was the Victoria Hall, match at the Etihad Sat and on Sunday Beth gave me dinner and came with me to see Georgie Fame and his sons at The Brudenell in Leeds. Just brilliant! We couldn't have been any closer to him.

Yes - friend over for 3 days now - my sister's family staying nearby at the weekend so a rare family get together for Sun lunch when Beth gets back from London and gig in Settle Sun night. Oh and yesterday was a retirees meet and we had a freshly cooked Thai lunch delivered :) Dining room being painted and new windows upstairs and bathroom floor being tiled and all the builder's snagging jobs being done. Strange to have workmen back in the house - everything happens at once! Things are good - sort of ironic and sad at the same time.
Thanks Maggie.

Yes indeed Lynn :)

He is brilliant - always different too. We walked into a full room and this was where the space was standing right near his hammond organ and room to dance too :)
