Cheers Crickson. This shot was one of my favorites from the day trip.

So have you finished writing now then? What are you doing now? Do you have a viva date set yet?

crickson says:

yes, i'm done and submitted (at last). No viva date as yet. Currently looking for a job, writing a talk and generally relaxing. Would be posting if it weren't for my f*cking phone. It stopped charging on the 12th (yes, my birthday) and I'm still waiting for 3 to get me one that works.

well done on winning the movie comp, I didn't notice till yesterday.

Congrats at finishing! Hurrah! It was my 1 year handing-in-anniversary a few weeks ago. Time really does fly. A word of advice; even if you want to postdoc in Leeds, apply to lots of places in the States; they each give you a $500+ bursary, so if you apply to enough, not only can you have a free holiday, but also turn a profit! ;o)

Relaxing sounds like a good plan. The whole writing up process is hideous. Good luck with 3 (how long do you have on your contract before you can change providers?).

Hey, thanks :o) Was quite chuffed when I found out I'd won. I think that's the first time I've won anything since coming 5th in one of those infant school raffles!

I had a bit of an altercation with a customer services rep in the shop yesterday after waiting all afternoon for a new phone that didn’t arrive again. This was the third time they were supposed to replace my faulty handset and when I phoned them up they weren’t a bit apologetic and suggested it was my mistake. Even the salesman in the shop agreed with me because he’d arranged the exchange, but they wouldn’t see sense. I told them to keep it, I wrangled a PAC code out of them and I’m shopping for a new phone today! I’m stopping the direct debit and hoping that the remaining line rental bills don’t reach me. There’s no reason they should, they haven’t got a bill to me for months now.
