A new beginning, an adventure beheld for two, promised to one another for so long. To travel Oz, two like minds as one, seeing and sharing as two, complimenting our combined skills of observation and love of the land.

1. Happy with this shot.
2. Wild flowers in 'the red'
3. Dawn shadows.

Arose early for a dawn

breaking drive from the caravan park to the rock.
A touch of cloud about the sun giving me an unexpected 'skyshot' whilst waiting for the early morning shadows about to drape the rock.

I was lucky enough to see Uluru, and hike all around it, beginning at dawn. Australia is amazing.

Lucky you too swamprose, I think dawn was somehow most touching.

I was there in July, and I remember it was freezing cold, something I had not expected in Australia.

Did you visit elsewhere? How long were you here for?

swamprose says:

I was there for 2 months, Canadian summer, with my two sons, ten years ago. Landed in Melbourne, drove the Great Ocean Road, saw whales, back to Mlbrne, flew to Brisbane, rented a car, drove to Cairns with sidetrip to Great Barrier Reef on Heron Island, then to Alice, then to Ulurua, then to Sydney and then home to Toronto. We loved it. Canada and Oz are similar in many ways, but you have better animals.

Initially I wasn't happy with the cloud cover thinking I wouldn't get the best effect on the rock, but scored two good pics! Thank you MaggieD and jc1000000
