Is it really over a year since I last posted anything? I don't know where that year has gone.

Anyway, I thought I'd pop in and say hello and Happy New Year and all that. And I'll make it my New Year's Resolution to post more often.

Tim is still going. He's 12 now, which is very old for a greyhound. He has arthritis in his back and his hind legs are very shaky if he stands still for too long. But he still gets excited about going for walks - just so long as they're not too long.

This was taken with my 'new' toy, a Rolleicord twin lens reflex camera, made around 1957/58 (it's even older than me).

Earthlad, thanks and HNY!

Factotum, I'm afraid it has - doesn't seem like it, though.

Swamprose, we are indeed.

Viv, thanks. He's on medication from the vet which has helped him a lot.

Sorry to hear about the arthritis. Love the pic, had you just said the word 'walkies' when this was taken?

Wendle says:

Hello!! Tim's still gorgeous :) My Nephew (my brother's dog) gets shaky legs... it's rather cute.

Maggie, thanks. No I hadn't said the magic word. Taking photos with the Rolleicord is a slow process. You have to line the shot up in the waist level finder in which everything is backwards, focus using a magnifier, set the shutter speed and aperture, cock the shutter and then finally fire the shutter. And you have to remember to wind the film on otherwise you get double exposures. Not exactly point and shoot! So I needed him to keep still while I was taking the shot.

Hi Wendy, he does look rather pathetic when he gets shaky legs. I try to make sure that he doesn't have to stand in one place for too long.

MaggieD says:

Oh my, that is way out of my league (I can just about manage point and shoot) kudos to you both, Tim for his patience, you for your expertise :)

Viv, he was unusually obliging for this shot - but then he was lying down.

Joker, it certainly does seem faster around here now so yes, hopefully here to stay. Good to see you back too!
