Daz took this one, after a very long walk into Chinatown where we finally
found an open place to eat.

Euphro (NLI) says:

That's a great shot; I love it!

17th Sep 2005, 21:47

bronxelf says:

Do you? I think we both look teh tired.

The walk in and of itself wasn't so bad, it was just the walk in the HEELS that was so bad.

17th Sep 2005, 21:48

Euphro says:

You do both look tired, but there's a warmth there that comes through.

17th Sep 2005, 21:50

Euphro says:

I love your nails. I never saw them properly on the night :)

17th Sep 2005, 21:50

Dhamaka says:

Thanks Euphro - think Bronxelf is right. Tired, more tired because we were so hungry and even more tired because of the shoes...
I've still got a hole under my right ankle from those shoes - and I think I had much kinder shoes than B'elf and Daz..

17th Sep 2005, 21:57

Dhamaka says:

*runs back to wave* Hi there!

17th Sep 2005, 22:09

bronxelf says:

Allo. :)

17th Sep 2005, 22:10

Dhamaka says:

:-) - Did I look that ... green... in RL?

17th Sep 2005, 22:10

bronxelf says:

No. For some reason the colour balance on the treo is *very* yellow. I still havent figured out how to fix it.

17th Sep 2005, 22:11

Dhamaka says:

relief...

17th Sep 2005, 22:12

bronxelf says:

It's an ongoing problem. I always look much yellower in photos rather than my usual rather bluish self.

17th Sep 2005, 22:13

Dhamaka says:

I've got one great photo of me dancing salsa with an ex.. except my teeth are so yellow they could be cheese. Keep meaning to see if I can fix it and forgetting

17th Sep 2005, 22:16

bronxelf says:

I can probably fix it if you want to send it over here. I gotz teh mad photoshop skillz, yo.

17th Sep 2005, 22:19

Dhamaka says:

Cool! Thanks - I'll dig it up & send it over

17th Sep 2005, 22:21

bronxelf says:

Cool beans. *adds it to the to-do list*

17th Sep 2005, 22:22

Dhamaka says:

Surprised you can find the end of it - must be 3 million things on it already

17th Sep 2005, 22:23

Kayze says:

COOL BLUE NAILS#1

17th Sep 2005, 22:23

bronxelf says:

It's not so bad right now. I try to limit the daily list to actually attainable goals.

17th Sep 2005, 22:24

Dhamaka says:

ah, I just have one big list and prioritise / reprioritise daily.

17th Sep 2005, 22:26

bronxelf says:

Sometimes I do that, but I find it ultimately just gets depressing.

17th Sep 2005, 22:27

bronxelf says:

Hi Kozika!

Thank you very much! I just try to keep my skin clean and use some moisturizer, and stay out of the sun. :)

17th Sep 2005, 22:32

Dhamaka says:

Hi Kozika
Thank you what wonderful things you say! I think my lips were big because I was so hungry... *grins*

I hope you and your animals are well and happy today

17th Sep 2005, 22:44

bronxelf says:

Make sure you are drinking lots of water, Kozika! I hope you feel better soon. :)

17th Sep 2005, 23:15

bronxelf says:

Oh my.

Please drink lots of water and juice. I'm sure Cherry wants to take care of you. :)

xx

17th Sep 2005, 23:54

Dhamaka says:

I hope you're feeling a little better today Kozika.

Don't forget your vitamin C to help fight the cold

18th Sep 2005, 09:40

daz says:

Of course I realize that I am repeating myself, but I took that walk barefoot.. Well, in nylons, but they didn't last very long. ;)

18th Sep 2005, 14:38

bronxelf says:

i waslked a lot of it in just nylons as well, but somehow manaed *not* to tear my nylons.

Seriously, I don't know how I did that either, save that I've done the "barefoot walk through major citiies" many times before.

18th Sep 2005, 15:30

daz says:

Meh. They were cheap, as most of my things are, so they're easily replaceable. ;)

18th Sep 2005, 15:50

Dhamaka says:

Daz & Bronxelf, you both did brilliantly, considering how far we walked & how hungry we were... I was really worried about Daz's ankle which seemed to be swelling all night.

I didn't realise that while I was worrying about you guys my shoe strap was wearing a hole in my foot and the hole still hurts..

Normally I like walking barefoot though London (although central London's a little dirty, as you'll have found out) - when I wear shoes it often feels like half my senses have been shut down.

18th Sep 2005, 18:44

bronxelf says:

I was far more concerned with Daz than myself. She was actually injured. That ankle was bad. I was fine-- didn't even run my nylons. :) I've walked NYC barefoot on more occasions than I can ever count, so Central London wasn't very difficult. :)

How is your foot healing? Other than my feet being quite sore and swollen the next couple days (which is why I didn't wear my boots and opted for my black chucks on my last night out) I've recovered just fine. Then again I've only worn chucks since I've been back home, which could explain a few things.

Next month though- New Chucks. :)

18th Sep 2005, 18:58

Dhamaka says:

Thanks B'elf. You've probably seen that Daz says her ankle's better. I've not worn anything with a heel since..

I think mine's healing slowly because I've been pushing myself to get loads of work done while I've been tired from back problems. But I've slept most of today, as you know, I've been taking the right vitamins and am going to the osteopath tommorrow Yay!

18th Sep 2005, 19:03

bronxelf says:

Yay! :) I didn't sleep much last night (I'm sure that's of no shock to you, considering)But have been pretty productive today. Getting ready to get WNA fully back in motion as normal at 7am tomorrow morning, and I've already gotten my Monday homework done, cleaned my bedroom, straightened the hall and the bathroom (will clean them more thoroughly later in the week), done a bit of knitting, and basically am just flying through my daily to-do list, which should, by rights, keep me going till about 3am my time when I can sack out for a few hours, barring any major disasters.

In theory, I will also get my laundry done as well.

18th Sep 2005, 19:08

Dhamaka says:

not really surprised at all *grins*..

You've been much more productive than me... And I'm going out tonight so won't be making up for it till tomorrow..

18th Sep 2005, 19:17

Dhamaka says:

oh sh*t.. the laundry... I forgot to do it!!!

18th Sep 2005, 19:17

bronxelf says:

Heh heh heh...

I got your email reply this morning. Just get to the real reply when you can. :)

Just finished another gallery... now... 3 rows of knitting and off to fill up the laundry card with some cash so I can get the wash done. Whee.

Where are you off to tonight?

18th Sep 2005, 19:22

Dhamaka says:

Just local. A friend's coming down from Wales and has decided he wants to stay over. Luckily my folks are not back till tomorrow so he can stay at their place and so won't get to see the mess in mine..

18th Sep 2005, 19:43

Dhamaka says:

probably Viet-Namese, mainly because I think everywhere else will be shut and I've not got any food in

18th Sep 2005, 19:44

bronxelf says:

I still can't wrap my head around this whole "shut" thing.

Like... Just can't.

18th Sep 2005, 19:50

Dhamaka says:

I have problems and I live here. He has just phoned to say the M1 is bad and he doesn't know how late he'll get here, the supermarket's shut so it looks like we'll be having whatever take-away we can find.. :-(.

18th Sep 2005, 20:25

bronxelf says:

That just blows. It's just a totally foreign concept to me. NYC really does run 24 hours a day. There's ALWAYS food. There's *ALWAYS* a market. There's *always* an option. It just boggles my mind that in a major city like London the place shuts down like that.

18th Sep 2005, 20:30

Euphro says:

There are 24-hour supermarkets here, but they all close Saturday at 22.00 and only open for six hours on Sunday :(

18th Sep 2005, 21:34

bronxelf says:

so it's like what? not 24 hours in a row?

18th Sep 2005, 21:43

Joe says:

monday to friday they're open 24 hours...we have stupid archaic laws with regards to sunday trading....in Guernsey, you can't buy petrol on Sundays....because it's alcohol...wha!?

18th Sep 2005, 21:46

bronxelf says:

Oh yes. Because everyone is going to start drinking gasoline, come Sundays.

*eyeroll*

18th Sep 2005, 21:55

Rich says:

To be fair though, if the shops didn't shut on Sunday then Heaven wouldn't be able to update our security settings and come monday we'd be up to our armpits in demons.

18th Sep 2005, 21:56

Euphro says:

Well, it's not even 24 hours on Monday because our local ones only open at about 08.00.

18th Sep 2005, 21:56

bronxelf says:

Demons might be interesting though.

It's just so *weird*. At *any* time here there's both open markets and open restaurants.

18th Sep 2005, 22:14

Rich says:

Personally i think it's a good thing that there's a certain amount of time off guaranteed for people who work in these businesses. Very civilised.

18th Sep 2005, 22:19

bronxelf says:

People here get time off as well-- we just have a rotating staff.

18th Sep 2005, 22:27

Geodyne says:

I'm coming in so late to this, but I do love this shot of you both.

18th Sep 2005, 23:01

bronxelf says:

I still think we both look pretty wiped.

18th Sep 2005, 23:10

Geodyne says:

You do, but beauty transcends that.

18th Sep 2005, 23:15

Dhamaka says:

charmer... if you were a guy I'd be wondering what you wanted...

*grins*
