I like this method for consistency - but you have to use microwaveable cling film or it goes horrifically wrong. It's useful if you want to poach more than one egg at a time but it can go horribly wrong.

I just need to get better at poaching properly though.

Beth - I use a straight sided non stick frying pan. Get the water boiling, add a splash of vinegar, turn the heat down add eggs, cover with see through lid - done in no time. Need the lid so steam cooks unsubmerged egg.
