Thanks :) rotated now. I made some matching earrings but want to get some photos with it on now with my SLR :)
'Necklace of rain drops' is the title of a story and a collection of stories by Joan Aiken - a must have in any child's collection for this the first story the last raindrop is a tear) and the baker's cat one of my all time favourites and add to that the whimsical pie in the sky and top it off with fantastic illustrations by Jan Pienkowski - unbeatable modern fairy tales.
This necklace is not just gorgeous but is full of childhood memories and pretty precious.
Absolutely beautiful. You have such skill and imagination. I bet Helen was chuffed (to use a somewhat unpoetic word).
You also reminded me of this conversation way back in 2006.
ah I remember
'Necklace of raindrops' has been republished and is on general sale and is a must for your storybook collection :)
But another must is Oliver Postgate's version of Rummer Godden's Tottie and the doll's house - after his death a long lost copy was found and is now available on DVD.
It was H&B;'s all time favourite - I had an old damaged video of it and had it professionally copied 2 years ago and at the time it was the only known copy - the girls commandeered the TV and watched all 4 episodes. A year later I was informed about the find :)
I thnk we had a conversation about this a long time ago too:) You or Spiderbaby or both because I think you said that the BBC got complaints because Birdie went up in flames and I hadn't known that we were just entranced by it. Can't remember whether we read the book before or after the programme - it too was much loved.
Ah thank you all.. there are a few more shots on my website now http://bethmadethis.co.uk/bethmadethis/Projects/Entries/2010/12/26_A_Necklace_of_Raindrops.html I am trying to get a reluctant lady to model for me :)
Yes Kelly I chose the bead maker on the clarity of her glass :)
