Blow, blow thou winter wind

Blow, blow, thou winter wind,
Thou art not so unkind
As man's ingratitude;
Thy tooth is not so keen,
Because thou art not seen,
Although thy breath be rude.
Heigh ho! sing, heigh ho! unto the green holly:
Most friendship is feigning, most loving mere folly:

Then heigh ho, the holly!
This life is most jolly.

Freeze, freeze, thou bitter sky,
That dost not bite so nigh
As benefits forgot:
Though thou the waters warp,
Thy sting is not so sharp
As friend remember'd not.
Heigh ho! sing, heigh ho! unto the green holly:
Most friendship is feigning, most loving mere folly:

Then heigh ho, the holly!
This life is most jolly.

(William Shakespeare)

Musical arrangement by John Rutter here

To absent friends!
Season's greetings to Mobloggers everywhere.

Am I the only one who can't see anything here?

Caine says:

No, Taniwha. It seems no one can upload photos, I tried hours earlier, and all that would post is text. I tried with the post button and email, nothing.

Am glad this is liked and that it worked out in the end! I like the bitter sweet note of the verse, and love the Rutter arrangement (less cloying than some of his stuff)

Thank you for all the good wishes.

Swamprose: I don't think the NT would be encouraging pampas grass on their reserve, I think it is more likely common reed or a tall sedge. Regardless, as you observe, it's the sentiment that counts
