By the way, were the break dancers there? They do a great show ... it's just the one act ... but it's a great show.

There was a group of break dancers there the same day, but they spent 20 minutes saying "now now now everyone we do this for a living so please please please before the show I just want to say don't be standing there like watching the show and then be leaving just when it's finished and like saying no I don't speak English or be like oh yeah very good and like but I don't have any money, cuz like this is what we do, and so when we start the show that is like our job so it's not nice to watch the show and then not pay us for seeing the show, and if you like enjoy something you should like pay for it, and not like watch it for free and then walk away . . . "
So after 10 minutes of chat chat chat and no actual break dancing I gave up and walked off.

Oh yeah, I've heard that speech. Usually, it's at the end though otherwise you get the hassle without any sense of obligation. Often performers have a very long wind up before their turn to get 'edge' - a big crowd. I don't have that much patience for edge building: 'just do the ten head spins already!'
