Today I was out all day photographing native plants. I did not find the elusive skunk cabbage, but I found lots of other things. I hope the giant slab is a bee house. it had holes in the bottom for ventilation.

@jane d--what do you mean a trillium hunt? there are trillium in the UK? with the bluebells? now, that's an idea.

Erythroniums and trilliums are amongst my favourite plants. There are good displays at two gardens within striking distance of here: Beth Chatto's (I'm sure you've heard of her?) and at RHS Hyde Hall. Just waiting for a nice sunny day...
