You can happily grow them in the basement, Rick enjoys growing shrooms, especially shiitakes. Absolutely fabulous shot.
Gorgeous. I have a vague memory of seeing a Frank Lloyd Wright office design based on a mushroom structures ... but only vague one.
Beautiful shot of gorgeous curves.
Some 'shrooms would like the basement, but most need some daylight to be happy.
I thought it was one of your pots when I saw the thumb....beautiful shot :-)
a fungus HL! thank you.
Paintist, you are so on the money. and I didn't see it myself.
'They' are the good folks in the greenhouse at the Wychwood Barns in Toronto. I'll put it on my sidebar.
I was there to see if my seeds sold at the annual seed sale and trade.
In the spirit of grow-your-own and buy locally, I think I am going into personal shitake production.
I am almost finished my work project and soon will be out to play.
Once Montreal's Nuit Blanche is over, and your work project finished, we should definitely head off together on some totally self-indulgent, indolent vacation!
Facto, running off with you is always an option--especially after two days solid of snow.
Congrats on the HL. Shitake does require sunshine to fruit, won't do well in the basement. I too, have been wanting to grow them again.
