Carnaval parade in Boemelburcht

(These images are of last year's carnaval, I wasn't required to produce images for this project, just make the plans)

Date/Time
Carnaval parade 2010 in Zevenaar (Boemelburcht) will take place on Sunday 14th February 2010.
Start of the parade will be at 13.00hrs.

Place/route
The parade will gather and prepare from 12.30hrs onwards at the parade forming area in the Albert Hien Supermarket car park. From there the route will be
Kampsingel
Grietsestraat
Raadhuisplein
Markt
Nieuwedoelenstraat
Wilhelminalaan
Julianalaan
Haspelstraat
Oude Doesburgseweg
Zonnegge
Sporthal Lentemorgen
(as indicted on the map image)

Shots/vantage points
Along the route there are a number of vantage points for long shots and for closer, detail shots.
As they come up the Grietsestraat, Raadhuisplein & Markt there will be a good opportunity for long shots of most of the parade, as will be from the Wilhelminalaan, looking back through Nieuwedoelenstraat towards the church, both very long, straight sections.
The area of the Raadhuisplein will be good for closer shots of participants as it is more open there and they will be putting the most effort into showing themselves off in front of the stands set up there for the Prince-carnaval and the various dignitaries.
A police escort vehicle will head the parade, better to let it past before making the shot(s).

Celebrities
Prince-carnaval this year is Fred 1st (Melgers) and his adjutant is Edwin Bomers.
Youth Prince carnaval is Youri v.d. Berg and his adjutant is Wouter Gesthuizen.

The main carnavals societies are
Paljas,
Toeteburgers,
Nachtuulen &
Griethtreejers.

Restrictions/Access
There are no restrictions at all to photography that day, a Big camera and a Hi-Viz vest gets you through to the front.
Getting close-in will not be a problem, moving through the participants with a wide-angle lens will provide some good opportunities for close up detail shots.
