Watching Dr Who

Myyyy god that could have lost most of the last half hour.

Yup Rich.

Seemed like a bit of an ego massage for someone occuring there.

Still it will be interesting to see what the new season is like.

Having never really taken to DT as the Doctor I'll probably miss him now. Yes, half an hour could easily have been shaved from this episode. Good to see the new Doctor though....

Or, you know, writing a main plot that takes up the whole episode! This is the Time Lords returning we're talking about! Rrrr!

Still, Matt Smith seemed to be an enormously bouncy tigger and the new clips look rather fun.

I felt that the good stuff was cut short too.

But why the fuss about the impending regeneration? I can understand that he loses part of himself when he regenerates and he might grieve for that, but his relationships continue across personas. Why the big show of goodbyes?

Agree, it did seem a bit overdone, didn't it?

Way too over the top. Hopefully it will settle back down into some good old fashioned Dr Who adventures.

so lets hope it will become less indulgent!

I don't think we're going to be looking at too much of a step change from the RTD template, but even a new set of soon-to-be-overused cliches and tics will be welcome.

So was it all an indulgent extended goodbye to Tennant then?

He also hinted he could regenerate as a woman. On the cards sometime?

A) the last 20 minutes were "a bit much" but I suppose kind of to be expected given the circumstances

B) they always float that idea, but no.
