I'm a British mathematician, been in the Netherlands for 35 years ("chercher la femme"). Recently became a double proud grandfather. Have a compulsion, but it's not secret, to want to correct miscarriages of justice involving abuse of science, see Dhamaka's plea

THE 9-11 was my 50th birthday. That's why I use it in my internet name, but English fashion, 11-9. The other part is my surname.

Paleis Park 't Loo, Apeldoorn, including the Forellenvijver ("trout pond"), the Willemstempel, the oldest Douglas firs of the Netherlands (the seeds a gift from Mr. Douglas himself to the then king), a Western Tsuga, and some rare glimpses of Mrs G.

Mrs G's red hat! She pulls funny faces when she's photographed so I have to try to catch her unawares. That means: at least 30 metres distance, from the back, when she thinks I've gone off in the opposite direction to take some photos of toadstools.

In Apeldoorn, on the Eastern foothills (altitude: 50m) of the Veluwe massif (peaks of more than 100m, close by), we only have about 7cm snow on the ground at the moment. Usually we have more rain than anyone else... don't know why.
