This is my personal blog, not a venue for saleable images. In fact, because it's here that I share things that are important to me with the members of the moblog community, photo quality's not my priority. Events, occasions, achievements, thoughts, trips and experiments - you'll find them all here. Contact me for the development version of my photo portfolio, for a selection of saleable images or visit my dance photography blog or my website for cuttings. And remember that all photos remain my copyright unless I've specifically said otherwise.

"The grand show is enternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never dried all at once; a shower is forever falling; vapour is ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal dawn and gloaming, on sea and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls."

This composition is fantastic!

Graffiti gets some extra attention from me sometimes because it's the raucous bastard of calligraphy -- an art all but completely demolished by movable type, by standardized type, by typewriters, by computers.... When you write by hand, you can dynamically change the shapes of letters and word-constructions, adding or removing weight for emphasis and for extra levels of communication that vanishes in the same way that Muzak destroys a symphony. Print and type are a crude digitization process.

The true forms can really only be seen these days in Asian arts, in masterwork depictions of Arabic verse, and in Western graffiti.

Sometimes it seems a bit juvenile that some artists can't be bothered to write anything more than their own name over and over and over. I just hope they're practicing.

There is something really creepy about this shot. Maybe its the fact that the window has been bricked over, but its a good chose of pic for hallows.

~R~ - I think whether 'pretty' is 'nice' or not depends on context. I'm not sure that I'd call any of the graff I've shown you 'pretty' but was more interested in your perspective

wingmaker - thank you! It's something I'm working on :)

Laszlo - thank you - & in which case you'd like my next show

Jigalong - good and thank you!
