Headed inland today instead of to the beach.

Thanks, I quite liked the juxtaposition of the dead leaves and the green ivy in that one.

I haven't actually read Cup of Gold. I think that was his first novel, wasn't it? Funny about that with the name. People generally think Tim is a strange name for a dog, and I guess it is; it's actually short for his 'proper' name, Timber Lad. (He does still get called Timber lad sometimes, when he's being naughty!)

Even more coincidentally Henry Morgan is reputedly one of my wife's ancestors. So I guess I should really read that book :)

Thanks, Caine. The collar is hand made by one of our friends in the Greyhound Welfare charity.

Joker, I think this particular walk is his favourite - mostly because it's a relatively short walk compared to going to the beach. And there are lots of other doggy smells around. He keeps much closer to me than he does on the open space of the beach. I don't think he'd even try to chase anything in a confined space. He needs lots of open space for that. Unless it was a cat. They're always worth chasing :)

Wendle, thanks. I must read it too, but I'm in the middle of a book that I've been reading for ages - must get round to finishing it (can't start one before finishing the other).
