These are random moments in the life of an indecent designer and the city she loves.

I am a female, carbon based lifeform.
I am a New York City Native.
I am a Design Professional.
I take photographs.
I also sculpt, paint, create mosaics, and play with weapons.

And sometimes, I even dance about Architecture.

What I see, is what you get.

Taken on my way home from dinner last night.

It doesn't. Wow, I didn't think that happened anymore since they started construction.

Considering how little has actually been really done on site, no reason for them not to keep doing it. Not the best angle ever, but it was what I had to work with at the time.

nige says:

Goes to show that you could shoot it from damn near any angle and still have people recognise what it is. How far away were you standing here?

The first thing i thought was 'Batman'...

nige says:

Well, it is Gotham. That's quite a distance away. Strange to think just how huge those things were, that they look like they are just behind that building in the bottom of the shot.

kel says:

I though 'aliens!', rather foolishly.

Every year I go back and read what I wrote back then on LiveJournal, and how people responded to that, and the next couple of days of fallout. I made some predictions there that I really wish hadn't come true, and yet I completely failed to gauge how bad things would actually get when the wankers decided to surf the tsunami of fear.

We lost lives, we lost riches, we lost face, but most of what we lost I swear we lost in how we reacted to the crime. And mostly I say "we" because I don't feel like now is the time to draw certain lines. At bare minimum, certain of us are guilty of failing to convince, of failing to consider how certain quirks and flaws are magnified to monstrous proportion when the unthinkable happens.

If this is starting shit, then I apologize in advance. But to me it's saying a few words over the grave of something I wish to God had not died.

I didn't write anything about it this year (and have no intention of doing so) largely because you either know where I was that day or not- I'm done justifying anything to anyone.

No caption needed at all. Your tag gave me flashes back to a loooong usenet discussion. Glad that's over.

Hi and welcome and well, pretty much, yeah. Over the past 8 years I've pretty much become burnt out on repeating "my 9/11 story" over and over. At this point people have either heard it or they haven't. So the one photo a year from me is probably enough. :)
