Walked out to Friars Point in Barry this afternoon, it's a headland that
separates two bays. The top shot is looking east over Whitmore Bay which is
the main tourist beach. This is a no-go area for us in the summer because
dogs are not allowed. The second shot is looking west over Watchtower Bay,
which is the beach we normally walk on.

Although the sky looked threatening it didn't actually rain.

Thanks. One of my favourite things to do is to start at one end of the beach in the second shot and walk through the water to the other end. Had my feet in the water about 10 minutes after taking those shots :)

AF, well, rocks lurking under the surface are a problem, especially as the sand gets so churned up by the waves you can't see them. I know roughly where they are but I still get caught out from time to time. Not sure I like the sound of sea nettles, though. And didn't you mention that you saw a snake in the sea one day?

taniwha, the light out to sea was fantastic. Unfortunately the battery in my camera died so I only had the cameraphone which didn't really do it justice.

Caine, thanks :)
