I finished reading this today.
I already knew whodunit, but i've never actually read any Agatha Christie before.
I've watched a lot of Poirot (i HATE Miss Marple) and Murder On The Orient Express has always been my favourite, so i figured it was the best book to start with.
I think i'll be reading a lot more Poirot in future :)

cariadus says:

Agatha Christie's grandson lives near here (or used to, don't know if he still does) and my father used to do some electrical work for him. Visited his house many times when I was a teenager. Not surprisingly there was a vast collection of Christie books, although at the time I was mostly interested in the many pieces of modern art hanging on the walls (including Dufy and Hockney). I've never really been into Agatha Christie that much myself.

I can't read the "old classics" tried a few recently, they just sound sooo dated, like a badly written play in a run-down theatre.

AF, reading about Ten Little Indians/And Then There Where None, it sounds like an interesting read, but where the hell is Poirot?

Cariadus, i'm not into Agatha Christie either; it's Poirot i love :)

Joker, i find that too with a lot of classics, but this book wasn't like that at all... i was surprisingly relieved!

I've just got into reading Christie - you can find them very cheaply second hand and they pass the time nicely if you don't have much time to pass. If it's only Poirot you're after The Murder of Roger Ackroyd and The ABC Murders shouldn't disappoint :)
