This company is crooked!
They have taken my cash and sent nothing, refusing to answer any kind of communication, three weeks of trying to get them to explain themselves has come to nought.
Gloves are off now, JXL's declaring cyber-war!
Project "drag David Steele through the mud" has just kicked off.

Yes, I admit, it was the X-ray specs that caught my eye (as it were) but no, I ordered a forward-facing dashboard camera that runs on a 4 hour loop, records everything that goes on in front of my truck on the road so next time some mad eejit cuts me up and tries to blame me I'll have video evidence. Plus footage of that scumbag who threw a rock at my windscreen in Calais would've been priceless.
It was a little over 100,-us and should be recoverable via PayPAL.
There may well be a perfectly reasonable explanation but I just hate being ignored.
I'll be on every "Geek'n'gadget" forum I can find this weekend, dragging David Steele's name through the poo.

I registered a dispute with PayPal, they send him a direct Email informing him of the dispute and that seems to have scared the crap out of him.

I accept that the package is now (finally) at least in the Netherlands now but the rest of your story holds no water.
The message I included in my (latest) Email, also included here below, was posted through your “Support” button on your website and all of these messages appeared straight away on your website under Ticket #7421849 So, whether or not my repeated Emails ended up in your “Spam bin” is irrelevant, the message(s) were clearly received and recorded by your company.

The excerpt below is from your initial confirmation Email (note the date).

“Thank you for your order. Your order number is 3749, placed 7/10/2009 at 11:40AM.”

According to your PayPal dispute reply the item wasn’t even dispatched until Seventeen days later! Without any correspondence with your customer (me).
To compare; I last week I ordered some photographic equipment from a NY company. Order placed on the Sunday, goods arrived at my door on the Wednesday of the same week! (also examined and import taxes charged by NL customs). The package was trackable throughout, by me, via an Email sent to me by the company’s customer support. So you see Mr.Bassler, it is possible to get it right.

I look forward to receiving the package within the next few days and let’s hope to God there’s no problem with the contents. I shudder to think how you might attempt to resolve that! This really is no way to run a (postal) retail business.

Aha...I just learned that for whatever reason, your email address goes directly to our junk folder. Perhaps it is because of your ISP or the .nl...I don't know. But the good news is that I detected it and have solved it for the future.

Um, no, 3 weeks isn't right, having been on the receiving end of packages from Europe. Joker has every right to raise hell with this person, primarily because his emails received zero response until an actual dispute regarding payment got involved. A reputable company responds to customers, and doesn't try to diss them by saying they ended up in a spam folder.

Read the body of text Rich, I ordered a much much larger package from a NY company and it arrived within four days.
If you really think the way David Steele has conducted his business is reasonable then fine, but I don't accept it as so, and am kicking up a fuss, as we all should do in this sort of case and not just "let it be".
