I am a model. At the moment I am Marshal Ney from the Airfix Napoleonic Wars gift set..
We really do live in Skaro!

Will be thinking of you both, and I hope the thoughts of 'strangers' will also give you a little lift :)
Thank you all. It's not life threatening, just horrible and with a long recovery time.
Hope it goes OK. These things are often worse, I think, for loved ones than for the person having the op.
Lovely photo.
You're not wrong there cariadus... BS goes through life not worrying unless there's something to worry about. I however prefer to imagine worst case scenarios to keep myself awake at night...
He left about half an hour ago and I'm now waiting for his lift to let me know he got there OK, as opposed to lying in a heap of twisted metal by the side of the road....
All is crossed for you and the BS of course.
I know what you mean BB is not allowed to be ill etc, that is my role!
Thanks FFox. We have just got back from visiting him, he had his op lunchtime. In his own words he is *ripped to the tits* in other words drugged off his face and loving it. He was only half with it so we left him resting as we wanted to get back here in time for the chip wagon. He is seeing the consultant tomorrow and hopefully will be home for the weekend.
"we left him resting as we wanted to get back here in time for the chip wagon" ROFL!
glad he's compos mentis - well, almost
Thanks all. He has a lap top with him so maybe he's reading this.
Jane: When you live in an area like this the weekly visit of the chip van is very important. He understood why we needed to get back in time, honestly he did.
Thank you Orbit, kel and everyone who has commented here.
BS is now home. He's uncomfortable and tired but he's OK. He's on a bewildering amount of drugs including steroids, really a huge amount and I know a thing or 2 about prescription medication.
Dazzle_Dust is staying and supporting us and the others in the rift are also helping out and keeping our spirits up. Bro J swooped in last night and polished off the leftover chips and amused us with inappropriate stories.
Thank you all so much for your kind messages. Really it's so comforting to know that we are being thought of fondly. XXXX
Cheers people
I am quite pragmatic about these kinds of things trying to make use of forced 'resting' time.
I looked on the whole affair as an opportunity to watch a couple of films '2001' and 'The Watchmen'.
Well now I am back home I can get on with trying to create a patent ubuntu distribution for work.
Ooer, missed this - hope BS is still nicely spaced & all is well in the Rift.
Ah, I missed this too. I'm glad all went well and BS is home, where he'll be most cared for and loved. I hope his recovery goes well.
Thanks Essitam, hidegard and Caine. It turns out he is well enough to bicker with Dazzle_Dust... : )
Bickering = good sign.
Chip wagon = very important.
Get well soon BS, you're certainly in the right place to get well-looked-after.
Joker the cry of *why don't you f**k off and die* just rang through the Rift House so I guess things are getting back to normal....
*sigh....
I share you sigh. The cry of "why don't you fook off and die" is so much better than the cry of silence though.
Caine and Joker: This is normal for BS and Dazzle_Dust. It's what passes for banter between these two.
Dust is so great though, it's wonderful to have her here.
Sadly Dazzle_Dust had to go home last night as she was due back at work this morning. BS continues well, fiddling with his instruments and generally having a relaxing time in his BS way...
