picked em in the afternoon and turned em into curry within a couple of hours. All the veg home grown, even the curry sauce is stuff I made out of the glut of green tomatoes after last years blight felled the whole damn crop, and the chillies that spiced it were from last years crop (i dried them).

The rice sadly did not come from my garden.

Dhamaka says:

the look absolutely gorgeous but you may have missed a trick with one of those carrots... it looks to me rather like a tumescent guy crossing his legs...

shitake says:

Dhamaka says:

I'm so relieved you other guys saw it

FilbertFox says:

D - you surely can't think I missed that, ca n you? I loved the shape of them

27th Jul 2009, 20:33

Dhamaka says:

I would have thought you'd be ill if you had missed it, but was worried you were ill because you made nothing of them...

did they taste better for the memory of their shapes?

crickson says:

Good grief! Look at the state of those carrots. And people protest against GM food...

: )

27th Jul 2009, 21:39

FilbertFox says:

Crickson - that shape because of the stony ground they grew in. And I am sure you will appreciate that they were organic!!!

come on then, criticise me

27th Jul 2009, 21:42

crickson says:

Wouldn't dare.

no criticism from me. Not just anyone can grow carrots that obviously have had a lot of fun underground. My compliments.

taniwha says:

delicious looking

28th Jul 2009, 07:31

FilbertFox says:

they did have fun! Sadly the cauliflowers bolted very early on, so I only have a couple more to crop.

Crickson - I only do organic in the garden because I don't think hobby gardeners such as myself should play around with chemicals. That said, I have summat on standby for the dreaded spud blight!

Geodyne says:

Absolutely awesome. :D I'm so impressed that you can produce an entire curry from your garden. Should I be asking you to marry me?

I'm also impressed because my caulis haven't actually done anything but take up space yet.

The carrots also look like they're trying to spell out some word!

28th Jul 2009, 20:06

Spiderbaby says:

I think we all play with enough chemicals at work and look where that gets us!

Those carrots are something else though :D They will have to be faved and put in the prize vegetables section!

29th Jul 2009, 01:04

Spiderbaby says:

Glad you got some broad beans in the end too :)

Bid Sis says:

Great veg sis. Bet they were really yummy. Cauliflower isn't easy to grow, so you did well. I haven't had any luck with them so far! Carrots are a bit rude but who cares - they taste better than straight ones
