I'd no idea - but any excuse :)
Are you saying you never go to Liverpool?
woo... you're on the way
you absolutely do and I look forward to seeing them
September, might just drop in on my mum's 75th birthday while we're there.
;-)
I try to avoid Liverpool (like the plague) as much as possible Viv, only to the port, for the boat to Ireland.
Nothing against the town, it's just not very "truck-friendly", as it were.
I think we might be able to find a couple of days in the itinerary Beth, she's certainly worth it.
;-)
But the statues are not very far from the port...
can't imagine driving a truck in any city though - not that fond of driving my car in cities especially if I don't know my way round
I thought your mother might come into it somewhere :)
Very cool shot. I thought the mountain in the background was a triangular-shaped head from the thumbnail!
Not my shot RAB, but it's a quirkey one isn't it.
I'll watch my back Swamprose.
Very kind of you to say so AF. I'll do my best.
I'd love to get down to the Liverpool statues Viv, keep trying but it's not down to me.
Cities are pants for big trucks, you come out feeling so stressed-out.
Ookiine, they certainly have an Alien-look about them. They are actually the laser-scanned body-images of local residents in and around Menzies. Then all proportions, except hight, were reduced by 2/3 giving this alien quality. The metal used is a unique alloy of local minerals added to iron/steel. Gormley wanted to show people what, in fact, was already there, in a little more accessible way.
Clever man. Complete dork (have you heard the guff he comes out with in interviews?) but very very clever.
hello jokerXL, I have just been looking on the web and can accross your posting, hope you did enjoy your visit to lake Ballard, however did you make the trip or not. I do agree with your coments about artwank speak. I also make metal artwork but it is from found metal objects from the 1900's mining area's to the north and west of Kalgoolie.Hope you do enjoy the cold winters in England unlike our weather in Western Australia. heh, heh,
