All spiders look scary to me - but foreign spiders especially so! Even scared I can see it's a brilliant picture. Given a choice I will stick with the turtle and pretty frog!

I believe it is a six spotted fishing spider (Dolomedes triton) - but I am not certain. I'm 99.8% certain that it is of the a Dolomedes spider, since they tend to be fishing spiders.

If you see a spider that looks like this in the UK - take as many pics as you can. This spider looks similar to the raft spider which is on the endangered species list in the UK. Local environmental groups would be thrilled if you found one.
