A race between me an Andrew on one of the local mountains. I'm referred to as Mark "knee surgery" Hills, because I have a cartilage tear and am awaiting surgery.

Camera work provided by Geraldine.
Commentary provided by Julie (Tilia Americana).

swamprose says:

did you tear things while running around on snow shoes? sorry, but you will never get me on them...give me a board, skis, a toboggan..

hope the knee doesn't cramp your style, or hurt.

Oh no. I tore things while training for a marathon. I've actually got a congenital defect where I have excess cartilage under my knee, and so it was just normal wear and/then tear rather than any kind of fall or injury. It means I can't do any running, and my snow shoeing, snowboarding and other fun stuff has to be shorter and easier. It's not cramping my style too much though; I won in the above video even though Andrew got a burst of speed at the end!

They're actually a lot of fun, although they only essentially allow you to hike on snow as opposed to boarding which is more exciting with the vouching down mountains.
