Just before leaving the UK I made one last purchase, the new Macbook
Pro and I love it.
I had heard that the new style trackpad can be awkward to use but it
just isn't so. The 1,2,4 finger actions are really intuitive and make
operation easier and nicer, have a right click has also greatly
improved use.
The hard drive is suitable big, and the screen is gorgeous.
It's been great to use programs such as Light-room at a speed that
isn't frustrating, which was the case with my old Powerbook. That said
the last few Mac that I have bought have really lasted and I have
gotten my moneys worth:
iMac 2002 - present day
It's pretty slow at most things now but I was still using it for
Internet surfing and itunes.
Powerbook 2004 - present day
Still great and a real work horse, it is quite slow at intensive
programs like Lightroom and big video editing.
I know that Mac's can be pretty expensive but to get 4 years out of a
Laptop and still have it working fine is amazing to me.
I just have to get a copy of windows now and try out Fusion!
