hildegard says:

The invasion is complete. It's like some warped version of The Eagle Has Landed, this german christmas market parachuted into a northern english town, complete with Glühwein, Würst & festive wooden whatnots...
Dashed odd.
Got to love the Glühwein though. :)

Nut cracker dolls. We have one somewhere unless we *lost* it in the move.....

hildegard says:

Heh, as you see, replacements can be readily sourced. You need not be long without a nutcracker doll... ;)

Twiglet says:

Thanks hildegard but I really think we can manage without one this Christmas.

Spiderbaby says:

They are rather sinister... But that's Christmas for you! Quite missing the Leeds German market out here, will have to find an alternative source of stollen and chocolate marzipan (or make my own...hmmm...or lose some weight instead :) )
Great image *faved

Spiderbaby - it's the teeth that do it. That & a probable lack of early Hoffman or ballet. Wretched things postively ooze pathos for me but there we are, can't be helped. Well, it could be, but am sure the therapy bill wouldn't be worth the candle...

Beth - I'd love to go to Nürnberg, or Dresden, or one of the other really hardcore Weihnachtsmarkts. You're right, it's just not the same in english, however accented... ;)

Very nice. I find them cheerful rather than sinister, but the latter seems to be the general consensus.

MaggieD says:

I agree with Mandy, they do look like they are about to invade, a little like a christmas themed invasion of the body snatchers (it's the combined fixed stare) ...
