Steve says:

Are you liking it? does it have any good software?

I dont actually have one - i just got a demo. But yeah it looks a lot shinier in the flesh and the touchscreen interface is nice. It's a bit more gaudy that the iphone. The camera doesnt have a flash and isn't particularly good. But the potential for apps looked cool - e.g. there was a barcode reader. It seemed a bit less fussy that the iphone all told...

Think i'll probably wait for the next one tho. That said, would be nice to try and create an app.

Playing videos didnt look as nice as iphone. But i prefer the fact that it a phone with a built in media player rather than the other way around.

I tend to be very Mac in most of my purchases but this time around I just wasn't that impressed with the iPhone or the Touch. Yes it's pretty but it has too many restrictions.

I settled for a N810 and my old Sony Ericsson in the end.

The specs I was looking at indicate the G1 has a better camera than the iPhone - which is part of why I'm planning to upgrade to one.

I would be tempted to wait and see what the next company does with Android. But if you could keep saying that and never buy anything.

Yeah i dont really like the iPhone. I dont like touchscreen on the whole.... i think apps have more potential on Android than iPhone - although they def look better on latter.

N95/Nokia all the way until the G Phone is 3 or 4 generations old and can match Nokia on all functions!

It sounds like a great start, but why compromise on essential features for a few clever apps?

Seems more like a concept phone but I think the android s/ware has potential. Like the others will prob wait & see. Got upgrade due & looking @ Renior or HTC HD. Need sumthin with a decent cam. Any tips dude?

I agree - i'd wait for 3rd generation on both iphone and gphone... and blackberry storm.

What amazes me is how these companies eneter the handset market without a camera with flash or a video camera - it;s pretty standard these days. I dont want a phone without it!

Did you lot see the TV phones i was blogging from korea?

DocD - you could check out the new 8 megapixel sony ericcson. Only thing is the last cybershot phone i got c902 has really annoying frimware. Personally the phone i really covet at the moment is the Nokia N96
