Oh, completely - that superstructure is a lot bigger than the actual rowing boat & all the fairylit "oars" are attached to the real ones by a framework, so as to move in perfect synchrony with the real strokes. You've got to admire a bloke who thinks like that. Even more one who actually goes ahead & does it.
Also, he has dressed up (admit it may not be entirely clear from the pic) which is always good for extra points to my way of thinking...
Amazing! I just read in your other post that the Parade lasts several months. How many boats were there?
Hm.. the steam traction engine, the fire engine, the Spanish galleon, the lifeboat, the penteconter, the Ford Anglia, the racing car, the monster truck, the (candle-lit) birthday cake, Thunderbird 1... 10 that I recall, but those are probably just the ones I particularly liked. Mea culpa, I hope the Venetian Boat Builders Association will forgive me if I've left anyone out.
Just catching up with this. A worthy winner,IMO, and yes, I can just make out his costume :)
