"Hi this is Dave, I'm one of the walkers on Ian Botham's latest walk and today we walked through Bury St Edmunds. We had a great time. We had lots and lots of schools come over to meet us, all waving and cheering throwing their money in the buckets. The public have been superb as usual.

We walked around the town, we did a bit of countryside and we made our way over to Ickworth House, a fantastic park where we were joined by about another hundred walkers or so. They in turn raised over £20,000 between them just for coming on a walk for 4 miles with Sir Ian Botham.

We all finished, all a bit weary, all a bit worn out. A little bit dirty from the mud but another day over."

My husband Steve and my sister Sue Papworth joined forces to walk at Bury St Edmunds on Monday, raising over £1000 between them. think Steve probably had longest journey to join walk as he flew over from Gibraltar! This was a bit poignant for us all as he was diagnosed with leukaemia while working here in Gib 2 years ago, the hospitals here couldn't treat him so he was flown back to UK where he received chemotherapy. Luckily he's feeling really well now and could make the journey this time without a medical escort! Big thanks to everyone involved in raising money and awareness, esp inspiration of Sir Ian. I saw him walk in Cambridge about this time 2 years ago while Steve was having treatment in Addenbrookes Hospital there, I got to speak to Nassar Hussein but not Sir Ian, and Steve didn't get to speak to him this time either-he was just too fast! But it was a great walk by all accounts!
