Ah, SFG, you have a lovely turn of phrase. Once, we went into a branch in a motor way services somewhere in the vicinity of Leeds. All I can say was that the food was gorgeous and it arrived in a reasonable time. But this was years ago. My current food chain hate is Frankie's and Benny's. Service at an unbelievable degree of shittiness.... They've had their last chance with me.

yep - I found that one visit was enough to tell me that Harry was more interested in the franchise rather than the customer.

You have it in a, er, nutshell, SFG. I avoid Harry Ramsden's like the plague. The name remains but all that was outstanding about the original Guiseley chippie has long, long gone.

They've never made it south I think?...the only one I'm aware of was in cardiff's bay and I've never been. Maybe a good idea...
