"Fancy not having any antivenom ... It's absolutely vital. It would be a very good idea for the health authorities to buy the antivenom"

Redbacks galore - a few thousand miles from home

[insert sarcastic glance here]
According to all these articles, they've been here for approx. 10years. The anti-venom must be coming by snail..........

Quote: "Rachel Nicolaou, who lives in Al Safa, said she regularly has to destroy the thick webs and egg sacks of the spiders. "We have been battling to get rid of both redbacks and black widows for the two-and-a-half years we have lived here.

"Not only are they found in gardens, but also in the local park and pool complex used by many children," she said.

Kinda scary tho, considering I tend to walk around barefoot, and have often seen thick webs around our home. Guess it's time to wear the ole Doc's when I get up in the morning.

It's always something tho during the summer. We've had bouts of flies, mosquitoes, cockroaches, ticks - this year - redbacks.

Next year it'll probably be piranha.
