I am a Design Professional.
I take photographs.
I also sculpt, paint, create mosaics, and play with weapons.

And sometimes, I even dance about Architecture.

Silly photos in which I am shown to be very small.

Largely this is because I *am* very small.

Taken (obviously) in front of national AIA Headquarters, Washington DC
6/12/04 (sorry to the Europeans, I know, we do dates backwards here.)

I was very excited to be in front of AIA Headquarters. :D

you look very excited and awful sweet to boot..

bronxelf says:

I was very excited. I was just filled with Glee.

Sweet? not so much. But I went running at full tilt across the street just to pose under the sign. Once I get my RA license (registered architect) I am going to post this and say LOOK MA! Im an ARCHITECT!

Or maybe take a better photo. I dunno.

bronxelf says:

Im currently an Interior Designer. (not a decorator, a designer, thanks.) Im finishing my second Interior Design degree as well as a degree in Restoration. After that? Im off to get my M*Arch (Masters of Architecture) so I can get my RA.

And that explains *what*?

bronxelf says:

Well I have to dispute some of that. I know you won't believe this, but Im *much* more introverted than you might think. I'm not really very gregarious except online. Im not *shy*, but.. I'm.. just not what you might think I am, is all.

I drink less often than you'd imagine (though when I do, I DO. APK and Kiia have both seen me totally wrecked.)

However I have NO dispute for the lack of sleep thing. Until about six months ago I had been living on 4 hours sleep a night for about three years. I'm trying to get back into it, but it's been hard.

2nd Apr 2005, 22:10

bronxelf says:

What the lack of sleep? That's ANY design professional. Doesn't matter what kind.

I dont know if it's an architect thing, I *do* know it's a me thing.

-is lacking in sleep-

Anyone who does this sort of thing.

2nd Apr 2005, 22:18

bronxelf says:

I pull those kinds of hours a LOT.

36-48 at a shot.

2nd Apr 2005, 22:28

bronxelf says:

Oh I become absolutely inhuman.

But you gotta do what youve gotta do.

beth says:

indeed though i was up making sandwiches not doing work. though that said the reason i was up late making sandwiches was because i was animating til 3am. but the reason i was animating til three am is because i didn't start work until ten because before that i had been cleaning and mopping and before that i had been to the supermarket. and before that i was moblogging. infact throughout all this i was moblogging.. but earlier in the day i was puritanically mobloggin.

I still havent designed today.

It's gonna be a long night.

2nd Apr 2005, 22:32

beth says:

i am not animating today. i am leaving it all until tomorrow. (also known as the last minute)

2nd Apr 2005, 22:34

bronxelf says:

Phoenix: Making sandwiches? No, but really you have to work to do em right.

2nd Apr 2005, 22:35

bronxelf says:

Well it's ALWAYS the last few minutes.

Heh, when I was going to GA Tech, my architecture friends labelled me an honorary architecture major because of the hours I kept.

2nd Apr 2005, 23:15

bronxelf says:

What did you go to GA Tech for?

2nd Apr 2005, 23:37

anathemad says:

These photos really show how much weight you have lost. Not that you look bad in them, you just look amazingly fabulous now.

Perhaps you need to post some more recent photos of you for comparision. Maybe next time I see you I'll take some if you don't have any handy.

3rd Apr 2005, 00:48

bronxelf says:

I was thinking the same thing earlier, though I did lose a not-small percentage of my total body weight overall. Still more to go, though.

I havent checked my weight in a while. I know a gained a little back this past month but last I checked it I had lost 17.5 lbs since I was at the weight of this photo.

I have the photos of the black dress in december, but I weigh even less now than I did then. I don't *think* I have any full body shots since going down as low as I have.

3rd Apr 2005, 01:03

anathemad says:

Those photos in the black dress are ok, but do not do your faboo body justice. You were rocking when you came to visit a few weeks ago.

3rd Apr 2005, 02:04

bronxelf says:

Lordy. People seemed to like the black dress photos...

3rd Apr 2005, 03:08

anathemad says:

I love the dress. The pictures hint to me of how drop dead you could look in a propper shoot so the suggestion makes them sexy to me.

Throw up the modeling shots from your teenage years. *that* is how to show you off. Or the photos from Pulse or John

3rd Apr 2005, 04:06

bronxelf says:

But I dont *look* like that now. I mean.. The ones of me when I was 20.

And why would I need to be shown off anyway? I thought I was trying to stay under this nice rock.

3rd Apr 2005, 04:09

anathemad says:

Ok, ok. You are old and the rock you are hiding under makes you look squished.

Why would you need to be shown off? For my pleasure and amusement I suppose. I adore the human form, and yours is an excellent specimen.

3rd Apr 2005, 04:26

bronxelf says:

But you know what I look like, silly person.

And Im very squished. and i have NO doubts I look old. But it's not the years, my love. It's the mileage.

3rd Apr 2005, 04:29

anathemad says:

Of course I know what you look like. And I think beauty should be shared. Come here, I want to squish you more.

I think in the last few months your spedometer rolled over from all that mileage.

3rd Apr 2005, 04:50

bronxelf says:

No shit, lady. And all of it off-road.

Love you, you know.

3rd Apr 2005, 04:52

anathemad says:

I do know darling, and I that as one of the reasons I am lucky in my life. I love you too you know.

Droid(droid41-at-speedfactory-dot-net) says:

I went to Tech for a chemical engineering degree. Never finished it, mostly because I disovered the joys of computers, which is what kept me up nights.
