I really don't like fungus. Creeps me out. Spores - ugch!
22nd Mar 2005, 18:43

daz says:

Neat picture, though!

22nd Mar 2005, 18:47

Helen says:

I like fungus. It's interesting, the shapes it makes, the colours, the way it changes. But I won't touch it.

Puff balls are fun.

22nd Mar 2005, 18:48

neel says:

I had to clamber over the log and try not to step on the fungus. Gah.

22nd Mar 2005, 18:49

bronxelf says:

I take it you don't eat mushrooms either?

22nd Mar 2005, 18:49

Helen says:

Hmm, often, where there's fungus, there's slime.

22nd Mar 2005, 18:50

neel says:

Mushroom's are on my life-hate list. Not much else is, but mushrooms are there for the long haul.

22nd Mar 2005, 18:51

J says:

Just spet 2 days trying to get this stuff our of my garden. I like the look but it was overtaking slowly eating everything. Kind of like a horor movey in slow motion.
Good shot though.

22nd Mar 2005, 18:52

neel says:

Ooo! Slime! That's something fungus has going for it, then.

22nd Mar 2005, 18:54

daz says:

I hate slimy fungus, but mushrooms... yummy!

22nd Mar 2005, 18:55

neel says:

Each to their own!

22nd Mar 2005, 18:57

bronxelf says:

Can I lay claim to your theoretical lifetime supply of mushrooms then? I think theyre tasty. :)

22nd Mar 2005, 19:20

Rich says:

I'll split them with you.

22nd Mar 2005, 19:21

Helen says:

Mushrooms. I'm very changeable.

Sometimes I love them and sometimes I just can't stand them. Same with bananas. Usually when I go off bananas, I go off mushrooms too. I think it's a texture thing.

Keep me away from any fancy mushrooms. The less taste they have, the better. (I can't bear over-ripe bananas either).

22nd Mar 2005, 19:26

neel says:

I'm sorry to spoil your mushroom dreams, bronxelf and Rich, but just because I don't eat mushrooms doesn't mean that I can simply transfer my share of the world's mushroom to you guys: it's not like I have a big pile of them in my back yard that I'm just not going to get around to using.

Bananas, on the other hand (geddit? Hand?) are great. Unless they're bad bananas, in which case I'm not interested.

22nd Mar 2005, 19:44

Joe says:

bananas are evil, part of my life's mission is to erradicate the scourge that is, The Bent Yellow Fruit...I feel ill if I smell a banana...mushrooms however i can cope with....you say banana...I say um....bluerg.

22nd Mar 2005, 20:31

bronxelf says:

I love bananas. and mushrooms. however... keep *anything* that resembles Anise away from me.

22nd Mar 2005, 20:50

neel says:

??

What's that, then?

22nd Mar 2005, 20:52

Helen says:

Something to do with stars? Isn't it? Star of Anise?

22nd Mar 2005, 21:09

bronxelf says:

Anise? Same thing that anisette comes from. Or licorice. Fennel, too. Or Sambuca. Just the *smell* makes me choke.

Information about Star Anise

22nd Mar 2005, 21:50

neel says:

Oh - aniseed. I really liked licorice as a kid, but at some point I switched to not being a fan. It's too weird.

22nd Mar 2005, 21:54

bronxelf says:

I make sure Im on the opposite end of the room if someone is drinking Sambuca. I just can't stand it. I get that way about cinnamon too, if it's too strong.

22nd Mar 2005, 21:56

neel says:

Gah! Sambuca! Evilness!

But if it comes up as a Tequila Club round then you gotta do what you gotta do.

22nd Mar 2005, 21:59

Helen says:

I love cinnamon. Lovely.

22nd Mar 2005, 22:00

bronxelf says:

Fortunately, I dont drink tequila either. It's all yours, pal.

22nd Mar 2005, 22:01

neel says:

Ah - that's the beauty of Tequila Club: only the first round has to be tequila (that's the first rule) and after that it just depends what anybody buys.

And nobody really likes tequila.

22nd Mar 2005, 22:04

bronxelf says:

Thanks. I'll take a pass on that. I'm a vodka girl.

22nd Mar 2005, 22:05

neel says:

Yay vodka!

You also need exactly six people for Tequila Club (that's rule number 2), although members can swop in and out between rounds. We once had a Double Edition of a Tequila Club, but that was a very special occasion.

22nd Mar 2005, 22:08

bronxelf says:

Oh see, now this is beginning to remind me of Pub Golfing at faire. Im frightened now.

22nd Mar 2005, 22:09

Helen says:

I don't think I've had tequila. Ever.

22nd Mar 2005, 22:11

neel says:

Tequila's pretty far along the Road o' Booze, and should always be an end-point and never a beginning. Never drink tequila if you're sober.

22nd Mar 2005, 22:16

Helen says:

That's probably why. It's an unneeded drink.

22nd Mar 2005, 22:19

Rich says:

I like tequila. Just because you're a bunch of shandy drinkers doesn't mean everyone else is a 3-pint screamer.

23rd Mar 2005, 12:16

Euphro says:

Probably Coriolus versicolor. Don't eat this one...

23rd Mar 2005, 13:22

seaneeboy says:

I've not really been able to face tequila since the time I drank a whole bottle of golden jose cuervo between 3 and 8 in the morning, in some random hall of residence in belfast.

wrong.

23rd Mar 2005, 13:31

Euphro says:

I'm the same for gin... and amaretto... and Southern Comfort. Oh dear
