Tom's little dog. Wearing a hat.

Helen says:

Interesting. He doesn't look too happy.

neel says:

I think that's just his stitched-on expression. I'm sure he's as happy as a pretend dog can be.

Plus, he's wearing a hat.

Helen says:

I don't know, his eyes look sad too. And his ears are all droopy.

He looks so sad that he's making me feel quite sad.

neel says:

He's a happy dog! Tom wouldn't have a sad puppy!

Perhaps he's pensive. Or thoughful.

15th Mar 2005, 00:40

Helen says:

Some puppies just can't help being unhappy. It happens.

Maybe he's a poet. Or it's past his bedtime.

neel says:

With Tom it's a bit of both: he has an essay to finish and he's been avoiding it all day.

And the hat's a little too big - that would upset me.

15th Mar 2005, 00:48

Helen says:

A familiar story.

Big hat, yes, that will be it. He's probably thoroughly fed up with trying to stay very, very still to prevent the hat from slipping over his eyes. The sacrifices we make for fashion.

neel says:

So there's absolutely no need to feel sad. It's just your simple, everyday, run-of-the-mill stuffed toy millinery upset. Happens all the time.
