Very interesting: I didn't know that most people have the same shoulder-to-shoulder measurement (aboout 15 inches).

Incidentally, I'm a metric boy through and through, so there might be some Spinal Tap-style scale problems with the " and ' thingies...

I don't understand imperial or metric. Caught a bit in the cusp of things (well in Dales terms...they're a lot behind)... so I'm a bit stuffed.

It is annoying that we're a fairly half-and-half country - metric for the important stuff and road signs in miles. It's better than trying to measure length/weight/area/anything to do with space probes in bobbins imperial measurements, though.

I just wrote down the measurements.

it's weird how we're half and half, I was taught metric at school. and I'd never dream of measuring up for shelves in feet and inches, yet the idea of a car with a speedometer in KPH just terrifies me....
