Heart shaped cakes

(viewed 3204 times)

It's harder to tell in the second picture, but these are the heart shaped cakes with which I celebrated my 2nd and 3rd birthdays.

I have always been that ladylike, yes.

I have probably endured more heart shaped cakes, but they stopped taking pictures after the age of 3.

At least I'm not called Loveday.

That is all.

My best was a log cabin made out of Cadbury chocolate fingers. Classy.

I had a cake with a barbie doll iced into it. I wasn't allowed to keep the doll.

Well that's just mean.

Joe says:

lordy!, how cute is that first picture!?

neel says:

The wallpaper would make an ace tileset, too: retro-cool!

beth says:

i have this feeling they might've been tiles.. they are ace tho

Helen says:

I can't remember the paper. That might be the rented Bristol house because that was my second birthday.

The only thing compelling me to have kids is that they'll be terribly cute. That is it. And they'll like stories, oh yes they will.

Beth I need a silky type neck scarf that is white with black spots to go with my new shoes. If you can find one, get it. I will love you lots (I love you anyway because you're my sister, but well you know what I mean – damn I'm soppy at the moment).

beth says:

yes. you've dropped this hint twice now. i have my looking cap on.

you are soppy.

hmm they stopped taking photos at three? i wonder why..

10th Feb 2005, 17:53

Helen says:

Because they started taking pictures of you.

Or my birthdays were no longer exciting.

Or they did take pictures but they're not in albums so I can't find them.

Also, a little dressy black or white bag would be good. All my handbags are clunky and not pretty in a dressy kind of way. But I may find one on eBay.

So this has turned into Helen's things-other-people-should-get-for-her list.

We need some more milk. And corn flakes.

10th Feb 2005, 18:30

Helen says:

Oi, this is my list. Hands off!

10th Feb 2005, 18:58

Helen says:

(Milk, eurgh.)

10th Feb 2005, 19:00

Joe says:

you don't like milk!?...now thats just plain weird

10th Feb 2005, 19:05

Helen says:

It's disgusting.

I quite like cheese though. The mouldier it is the better.

10th Feb 2005, 19:07

Helen says:

And ice cream. Now that's what should happen to all milk. It should be chocolatified and frozen.

neel says:

In the future, when we all have jet-packs, cows will be genetically engineered for just that purpose.

10th Feb 2005, 19:12

Joe says:

very cold cows presumably

Are you sure you're not 20 years older? I've pics of me in a groovy kitchen just like that (with orange units for extra contrast ) taken in the seventies.
Read Nigel Slater's "Toast" to get the full flavour.

10th Feb 2005, 22:16

Helen says:

I'm fairly sure.

They didn't decorate as much back then did they?

10th Feb 2005, 22:53

McN says:

Aren't you 80's vintage, that would be all stripped pine and Laura Ashley wouldn't it?

11th Feb 2005, 12:55

Helen says:

I was conceived in the 70s, produced in 1980 and have always been a little behind the times. I don't think we got the Laura Ashley curtains and wallpaper until 86/87. The parents have been stripping pine for forever.

Oooh I'll have to find the Care Bear wallpaper pictures (we still have a roll of the stuff), that was true 80s' style.

11th Feb 2005, 14:13

Joe says:

everyone is so bloody young....it's awfully depressing....my "little" brother was born in 1980!

11th Feb 2005, 14:15

Helen says:

Sickening, isn't it?

11th Feb 2005, 14:19

Those are just the cutest pics ever! I had a haircut like that when I was a wee bairn
