Okay - we all have to look out for any personality changes in Mat after his exposure to The Chosen One. You know the sort of thing: filling the site with Derren fanfic, preaching the one true gospel and wanting to "convert" us all by bluetooth alone.

(I love that man, but I think physical proximity to him would destroy my mind.)

Ignorant colonial here never heard of him, but just Googled. Anyone see the 1 Hour special on the 7th? Sounds like he's the Ali G. of spiritual beliefs. Hope they play it here someday.

Hahahaha. Not quite Ali G, but I can see where you're coming from. He is, in order, a close up magician; a modern mentalist; an active sceptic. I like his close-up work best, myself, but he does the mentalism thing a lot for TV. He's one of the most interesting magicians of recent times (David Blaine's got nothing on this guy and a deck of cards), and devastatingly intelligent to boot.

The one hour special, Messiah, was hilarious, and also quite disturbing - if it didn't air in the US, which I doubt it would, you can almost certainly get it from one of the filesharing networks. Keep an eye out for his russian roulette stunt as well - filmed offshore UK so he could use a real gun...
