Well, if you're not going to eat it...

Hey, happy birthday, mat!

Happy Birthday!

Helen says:

Neel, that cake doesn't look very nice – where's the chocolate?

2nd Jan 2005, 18:43

neel says:

Sorry, Helen - stuck as I am in the remote tracts of Yorkshire's wilderness, this was all I could scrounge up.

It is very good cake, though: yummy sponge heavy with sultanas. Just right for wasting a Sunday afternoon with.

2nd Jan 2005, 19:36

Helen says:

Hmmm I'd pick out the raisins and leave the sponge for the birds. Although Yorkshire sponge might be acceptable.

I am also stuck in the remote tracts of Yorkshire's wilderness...but I still have chocolate. (Thank goodness, it makes this Bronte-esque weather more bearable).

neel says:

No chocolate here.

[ looks 'round ]

Hovis crackers, McCoy's, satsumas, a selection of booze. No chocolate: boo. And the weather is becoming very Brontë-esque. Something needs to be done.

2nd Jan 2005, 21:14

Helen says:

Hmmm now I could be tempted to swap a bit of chocolate for a satsuma or two. There are a whole heap of orange thick skinned things in the kitchen, none of which are satsumas. And some of them are horrbly sour.

As to the weather, I propose a mass protest up at the parsonage in Haworth... bring wellies and sowesters. It could be moblogged, but visibility might be poor.

neel says:

Yeah - those sisters have been dictating the weather in these parts for far too long. Let's target Charlotte first: cut off the head and the others will be starved of leadership.

I'd been ignoring the satsuma-things for a while. They're not my favourite fruit, and these ones looked quite nasty to peel. But they weren't. Huzzah for vitamin C!

2nd Jan 2005, 21:37

Helen says:

I've been wanting to get them for a long time. Whinging on about how isolated they are and Haworth's huge, it has shops and everything, within walking distance! It even has a Brontë Balti house.

And Charlotte, she's the worst – "Jane Eyre" was unbelieavable.

You're just showing off about the satsumas now.

2nd Jan 2005, 21:57

neel says:

I'm not showing off. I'd pass one along, but I don't think it'll fit in my Firewire port.

Maybe if I had Firewire 800?

Helen says:

Sounds messy.
