i liked the silver against the colour of the door. the font looks so stern too. THIS STALL IS ENGAGED. I'M DOING MY BUSINESS. MOVE ALONG.

Love it. Very stern and austere.

mmmmmm, OK, toilet humour, but I think it can be forgiven 'cos it is such a good photo ... oh yes and congratulations to Jo and Julie .... and if Nige if photographing the big day, then you have another treat in store :)

nige says:

thanks caine. very serious business indeed.

maggie, thanks for letting me off. i am documenting the big day, and i keep getting told off for being more excited than the couple in question, although they did allow me this one thing :)

Caine says:

Hey, the day you aren't excited, that's the day you need to worry about. Your excitement inspires you and leads to unique photos. Nothing wrong with that!

couldn't agree more with you caine. i have a feeling i'll always be a kid when it comes to photography.

Me too. :D

Hee! Cute. And yeah, very austere and old-school. Any minute now some elderly woman is going to come along and sternly ask you if you've moved your bowels today.

Congratulations to Jo and Julie.

If they're anything like any of the married lesbians I know, they probably see it as their sacred duty not to make a song and dance out of it (it's called "Doing An Elton" and it involves carriages and pink champagne).

Nige, I'm sure you'll do 'em proud.

And thanks for your wedding photo tips. I've still not had time to get back to you properly, but I'm getting organised for the CP next weekend.

"Doing an Elton". haha. i like that.

they are both doing a good job of keeping everything in check, but i know they're very excited. i'm looking forward to the day.

no probs on the tips. There are quite a few of them, but you can skim read a lot of it and still get enough information. are you worried?

A friend of mine did Proper Academic Research into attitudes towards Civil Partnerships and found that lesbians were nearly always low key compared to gay men. It doesn't mean "not excited" but it does mean "no ice sculpture". Usually. I'm very pleased for your friends.

I have already skim read the tips and need to go back again. I got one of the grooms to send a list of the people/formal shots they definitely want and am going to make sure we get those in the bag early on. And I have sourced a spare camera etc. Oh and bought some heels that don't cripple me. Strangely, I notice you haven't considered the thorny question of how to be a nimble photographer whilst wearing a Vivienne Westwood dress. ;)

I'm not too worried - apart from if the weather is crappy as we don't have pro lighting. We have had numerous conversations with our friends who are adamant that we're guests not photographers so we should be able to get the balance right after the tripod shots.

nige says:

lol @ "no ice sculpture". i think i see what you mean.

sounds like you're getting everything together. the only thing i'm sad about is not being there in person to document you documenting everyone else in your Westwood. i'm sure you will do your friends, and Vivienne, very proud.

fingers crossed for good weather and good natural light.

That's the point at which documentary begins to eat itself I think. :)

Actually, V&I; will have a camera each so I'm sure there'll be a few shots of me shooting. I'm now thinking of Man Bites Dog for some reason.
