Design is easy.....?

Always on the look out for design/film/animation/photo taking inspiration - Oh, and travel ideas, (although anything in Japan will always win hands down for me). Currently based in the North East of Scotland.

Went to my old art school today to see the degree show - as you can see,I preferred the outside and some of the more 'interesting' rooms, than the work....good to see my old graffiti legacy still survives from an installation I 'created' while there! Got some new badges today too.

I'm being a bit negative - it was ok, but the overall consensus from various friends and colleagues was that it was just avergae this year. Nice paintings in fine art but the girl didn't want me to take any photos of her stuff. :(

Too right. Oh! and I forgot - the graphic design stuff was pretty good - it was the courses first year of graduating this year, but there wasn't anyone around to ask if I could photograph some of their stuff, and didn't like to just go for it. Great illustration work, so there's some nice stuff, just difficult to find in amongst the huge amount of mediocrity.

Yeah, pity the girl wouldn't let me photograph her stuff - totally understand though. Shame, - it was great as well.

I think it had been purchased and possibly she felt an obligation to the new 'owner', she just gave me a straight 'I'd rather you didn't' which was fair enough. Of course she could have possibly been aware of my duff photo taking skills, and her real objection was that I would make her artwork look dreadful.....!
