Ariana behind the lens

Ruth has been away at a conference this week so our household has been operating as a trio. The kids couldn't have been better actually - helping out where needed, mostly sorting themselves out to get themselves to school and bed.

And Ariana has been doing some photography. This isn't a pensive pose but more a reflection of the deep thought needed to tie my shoe laces.

Power cut or conservation drive?

Ariana creates little works of art on a daily basis. Yesterday, she took the camera out with her when we went into town to photograph plants for some project connected to school. A few months ago she created a whole series called 'Cuddle's Big Adventure' about a little dog's holiday in Wales. She should blog it.

Joker - no power conservation here. I think that after three years of rattling around in the bike pouch or my pocket, this camera has finally broken. All photos taken inside are really murky.

And yet it looks so pensive!

You should definitely give her the camera more often.

you appear to be attempting to tie your shoelaces through thought alone... or possibly hypnotising the photographer into doing it for you.

Yep, Ariana should be handed the camera more often :)

Ahh - shoelaces can be tricky sometimes - I think she's captured the moment brilliantly!
