why are there bike wheels on the walls?

Vintage 1980s black velvet docs, never worn before I got 'em. I tried to convince the wife to paint Elvis on one and Jesus on the other, but so far no luck.

There are maybe six wheels on one wall and fifteen or so on another. You're encouraged to put postcards or flyers or such in the spokes. A week or so ago they had an art show in the spokes. Also I think they're trying to raise money for bicycles for people in Rwanda.

If they raised money to arm bicyclists in Atlanta, that would be awesome.

Carpe DM, eh?

I'm not sure how well they go with my seersucker shorts, though. I look like I deliver packages for a living. Not that that makes it easy to give them up for something more sensible for warm weather.

Next time I find $80 lying around, I might invest in a pair of Vibram FiveFingers. Which I swear are shoes and not sex toys.

Except for the people who get those confused.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I have a pair of Nike split-toe sprinting shoes and I love them. Somehow it's easier on my knees when my toes get to do more work, which is why I'm looking at the Vibrams....

What i should really do is buy half a dozen pairs of light-weight canvas rope-soled disposables to wear until I get my finances straightened out (i.e., working only one or two jobs instead of five) and can settle on how to rebuild my thrift-store wardrobe.

I could probably find a cheap pair of larger oxfords to slip the Vibrams in if I suddenly had to go meet with clients that spook easily....
