yes, pretty much ! the ring was rushed, and even during the fight, people were rucking in the crowd - perhaps I should have mentioned it was in Wythenshawe..? - the largest council estate in Europe !

Used to live on a bus route to Wythenshawe when I was at uni. Every now & then signs would go up along the route to the effect; "The bus will not go all the way to Wythenshawe until people stop stoning it."

oh dear. it's certainly not a place i'd be in a rush to go back to. nice surrounding villages though.
