A 366-day pursuit in personal portraiture, presented by nige.

The challenge: to photograph, and post to this moblog, a portrait shot of myself, every single day, over the next year. Apparently, it's much harder than it sounds...

Perhaps more challenging: that i don't enjoy seeing my phizog in a photo at the best of times, and knowing that i'm probably going to annoy the hell out of the moblog community in doing this. So, sincere apologies in advance for this undertaking, but i just can't help myself. I promise to try and be creative, so you won't have to look at my mug every day.

Anyone interested in joining me? I think i'm probably going to need the company...

Since i've been off i've watched all three seasons of House on DVD, and i'm completely up to date. Have that.

On another note, Tori's absence due to illness has just made me think: Does anyone even bother doing dailyme on a daily basis anymore? Or, do they post pictures in bulk, obviously taken all on one day, whilst pretending that they were taken over a week (Hahahaha, come on! You culprits know who you are!)? The only regulars i see these days are Tori (notwithstanding this last week), Joker365x and - horror of all horrors - Mikey365! Yes, the original lagger is now on track and posting every day! Who da man?!?! Yeah, you da man!!!

Shame on all of you who aren't posting everyday. "I'm too busy" is a poor excuse! Of course, you can all take comfort in the fact that nobody is worse than wingmaker, who just posts whenever she likes, and can't even remember what day it is.

Tori says:

I cannot tell you how annoyed I was trying to keep up with the dailymes while I was feeling so sick. I felt so gross, so horrid, so uncreative, and then to be pointing a camera at myself and try to say something about my day and how I was feeling with the shot... It was such an effort.

I am glad I did it though, if I had skipped for almost a full week because I was sick, I doubt I would have come back, and this far in, I would hate to give it up. I think I am in for the full batch at this point.

I have a trip coming up soon that may have me with no access to send any shots for a week, but I will take the shots each day.

I'll have to 'fess-up, I took all my photos last year, 365 of them, added all the necessary text and sent them all to a website that promisses to send one each day for the next year, costs a small fortune but makes me look really organised.

you shouldn't take it personally. what i wrote is supposed to be tongue in cheek, but maybe it struck a chord with you for some reason.

Just catching up on this and I've dropped the ball this week!

I often say that it is due to work, I don't get time or the facility to take the pics when I am in one of my offices (after a bad experience with a previous employer I keep things more separate now) which is why you get them mainly taken sitting in traffic jams..

This week I have been off and still not kept up to date, but have been busy with other stuff.

Take a picture of yourself each day and post it, yeah, no problem, piece of cake...

Now go try it :D

I'll get back up to date, I will finish, but will it be a dailyme or dailyme's when I can post?

One thing I must say,it is far harder than I imagined but it is also far more fun than I ever thought it would be, and it makes you think about what you can do to top the last one....

thats a serious dailyme endorsement right there ;). everyone should do it. hehe.

it's quite interesting to see how much more thought has gone into your pictures as time has progressed. you've definitely improved, and you're obviously thinking differently to when you first started the project. it's so great to see it transform as the year progresses. the magritte apple and shots of your ass have been my faves so far. thats not to say that i'm checking your ass out, mind, but they have been highly entertaining!
