I've got some divining rods.

They appear to work. I even took them into school once and had my physics teacher design an experiment to see if they did or not. They continued to appear to work. Me and a friend used them to find a chosen card from 52, face down, repeatedly.

Despite several positive-looking results, I still remain sceptical. Experimental error/bias is much more likely.

In answer to the question - yes, I would like to find water under the ground. I suspect I'd elect to use ground-penetrating radar or some form of seismology than dowsing if it was really important.
