Surely it's the curse of the modern world that so many people now work at a computer while the compter also provides the biggest distraction from work ever devised ... (Dave Gorman)

We've been staying in Ilam Hall in the Peak District. It's a hostel, but boy, what a difference. I know, I haven't been in one for over twenty years, but these places have really changed. Most of the people staying had young kids. They served meals and you didn't have to do duties. Had a lovely time.

That's a lovely shot. Were the meals fairly decent?
I once stayed in a horrible hostel in Islington and left within hours because it was so grim. Seems like things have changed over the last few years. Sounds great.

I've had some pretty grim hostel experiences in the past but have only walked out of one. This one really was a cut above.

The one meal we had was pretty good. It was home cooked but not fancy-smancy in way. I'd recommend it to anyone.

dude that is one hell of a crash pad and some bizarre architectural features going on there... what period is it? and why do you look like you're standing on a collapsed elongated cricket pitch?

hostels, like everything, vary immensely. I've stayed there a long time ago and it was fantastic then, glad it's still up to scratch!

You would be impressed Para ... you can also get some decent cycling in.
