Oh dear god. Was only discussing the imbecile building programme in M'cr the other day (degeneration, rather than regeneration) never mind the surpassing vileness of Urbis or Beetham Tower, or the cash haemorrhage that is the B of the Bang - they can't even get a simple riverbank right. The fact that the new banking is lower than the Victorian bank is unforgiveable.

You've also lost almost all the trees & green spaces in the city which would have taken up a lot of rainfall, whilst naff-all has been done to improve the Victorian street drains & sewers; it's like they've redesigned the place to optimise flash flooding.

Hm, the water table can be a bit odd in Mcr - round the BBC some of the older buildings certainly used to rely on pumps to keep their basements dry - water would start to seep up through the floors when the Medlock rose beyond a certain point. Recall a mate's office had an alarm connected to a pump in the sub-basement. If the pump conked out, they had surprisingly little time to fix it before their basement offices flooded.
Would so love the new Court building to flood...
