It's a wireless router and a network thingy, I managed to "borrow" from work. It was all supposed to be so easy, but has turned out to be a huge headache creator. I will get it working though, I will........

oh yeah we have one of these. i had a right bastard headache trying to get it to work with my modem at home. infact i failed and gave up. i literally just plugged it into the net gear modem and it worked instantly. the main problem i had with the other modem was that the IP address of the modem was the same as the router and the hardware just kept defaulting back to 192.168.1.1 on both machines. bah! good luck!!

It's being a pain in the proverbial. I've managed to get to the point where the pc works fine through the hub and still connects to teh internet perfectly, the wireless router is plugged into the hub and my laptop can connect to it (sometimes) and see the network (well, all one other machine on it), but I can only get local access an no internet connection.
According to Virgin, my modem should be fine for multiple machine use and the only thing I can think of left to try, is to plug the wireless router straight into the modem just to see if I can get an internet connection.

It did make me chuckle that "estimated installation time" was 30 minutes. So far we're running at about 10 days!! :)
